The Workshop

Historic stringed instrument making

After studying at the International School of Violin Making in Cremona, I quickly specialised in historical instruments, working notably with Carlos Pineda in Cremona, Pablo Soriano in Seville, and later with Olivier Calmeille in Montpellier.
A training in sculpture at the Bourdelle School in Montauban complements my background in violin making. This experience is an essential asset in the making of viols and historical instruments, where carved heads and ornamental work play a fundamental role. Historical research, carved heads and intricate purflingpatterns have confirmed my commitment to this specialised field.
The workshop is therefore primarily dedicated to the making of Baroque and
Renaissance period instruments, striving as closely as possible
to remain faithful to their original
design and conception.
I welcome you to the workshop by appointment for instrument trials, as well as for adjustments, maintenance or repairs.
